INDEPENDENCE MONUMENT
A symbol of peace and independence from colonial rule, the Independence Monument is one of the most important historical landmarks in Cambodia. Built in 1958 to commemorate Cambodia’s independence from France in 1953, this majestic lotus-shaped stupa was inspired by the architectural style of Banteay Srei. The monument is open to the public, welcoming tourists, locals, and foreign state visitors. It takes about 7 minutes by car or 35 minutes on foot from Noden Hotel & Apartment to reach the Independence Monument.
